Today on the show we are going to be talking about the wisdom of dissatisfaction. As entrepreneurs, we often pour years into creating our business, and one day we feel not as excited about the work we are doing. We start to feel like something is wrong with or out of place. The work that we are doing doesn’t light us up in the same way. This is the wisdom of dissatisfaction.
It can feel like a bad thing. It is a necessary process but the beginning of the process is often uncomfortable. Feel gratitude for these feelings and get yourself to this place where you are experiencing this transformational dissatisfaction that is coming from deep within your soul and calling you to a higher level. It is the opportunity to create a life that you are more in love with that creates even more impact.

- [03:44] Nobody in their lives has left their comfort zones with pleasant feelings. You need the friction to move you out of how you are currently working.
- [06:01] You want to lean into that pain, discomfort, and feelings of misalignment and look at the interesting data that is arising for you.
- [06:43] Having somebody objective (like a coach) to ask the questions and have you go deeper can really accelerate the process of clarity.
- [07:01] A lot of these feelings of dissatisfaction and pain points you are feeling are very important that you pay close attention to them because these can be the seeds for great stories to tell in your presentations, social media, and podcast content. A lot of the time the medicine we need for ourselves at this moment is the same medicine we are working on creating and refining for those we work with.
- [07:54] You are writing and crafting a story in this moment and you have the choice and ability to decide the meaning you want to create and the direction you want to take from this moment.
- [08:39] If you start to get the sense that it is a new product that you are calling in, you want to ask yourself some questions.
- [11:54] Examine what aspects of how you are currently serving your clients that most drain you.
- [12:30] Always ask yourself, what would I love? You want to give yourself enough time and space to really feel through this.
- [13:11] Sometimes it is not a shift in your current offers but a calling to serve a new client. We want to ask ourselves slightly different questions if this is what we are feeling.
- [15:23] A lot of times the dissatisfaction and discomfort we are feeling during these times that motivates change in us is the same dissatisfaction and discomfort that your new potential clients are feeling and experiencing.
- [16:04] What could you change about your current offerings that would delight you and these new potential clients?
- [16:41] Next, you need to start creating spells.
- [17:23] Start to picture yourself 6 months, 12 months, and 24 months into the future and take notes on what specific details you want to experience in your personal life, your health, both mental and physical, and your day-to-day work.
- [18:09] Usually the first details that you come up with aren’t what you are looking for. You have to answer this question a couple of times and go deeper on each answer to come up with what is moving and influencing your heart.
- [19:06] Write out what you will feel and experience in this future in the present tense.
- [20:15] Once you find the vision that most resonates with you then that is the one you can begin to focus on and capture.
- [21:10] The wisdom of dissatisfaction is a beautiful thing you are feeling. It is common and a reward of the entrepreneurial journey to be experiencing this particular kind of dissatisfaction.
