How to Access Your Unstoppable Energy

2020 has certainly been a year to remember. I remember in March of this year with empty store shelves, lockdowns, and a 5.7 magnitude earthquake, I promised myself that I would grow as a result of the challenges presented in these times. That through these events I would shape myself into a better version of myself.
At the time of recording this episode in December of 2020, I am in Hawaii. I was only expecting to stay here for only a few days, but now I am here at least until the end of the year. If I could go back in time and tell myself what I could expect at the end of this year, the past version of me would not believe it. I am going to tell you about Hawaii, what got me here, and how I spontaneously decided to stay.
First, I need to introduce an idea to you. It is called unstoppable energy. There have been several times in my life when I have felt unstoppable energy and I particularly feel it with places. We are going to explore the three-step process to explore your wood energy.
We discuss:
- [01:41] There have been several times in my life when I have felt unstoppable energy and I particularly feel it with places.
- [01:50] Kyle shares the story of feeling called to go to Brazil ten years ago for an internship.
- [03:20] Then he shares about the next adventure that led him to Thailand.
- [04:00] Wood energy is a perfect term for unstoppable energy.
- [07:05] Seeing things in this framework allows you to think about your decisions, how you approach energy, how you solve these problems and create new growth in your life.
- [09:55] Hawaii is electric. It is a powerful and dangerous forest that often and uniquely makes its presence known.
- [11:25] We are going to explore the three-step process to explore your wood energy.
- [11:35] Step one is to find the source of your wood energy. Step two is to buy the ticket and step three is to stay open, humble, and curious.
- [11:56] Connect with an ambitious idea that inspires and energizes you. In October, Kyle felt this same call.
- [13:46] Over the last year there has been a lot of playing to not lose. These thoughts can be difficult for us to rise above.
- [14:54] When you make a deal with wood energy, you need to make the first move. You must make a sacrifice or an act of faith. You have to buy that ticket before you have it all figured out and that is what makes it real.
- [15:40] There are a lot of ways this act of faith can play out other than a plane ticket including investing in a coach, going back to school, moving to a new place, or many other ways. The key is that it has to be uncertain. The more risk you can put on the line, the more powerful the energy will be in you.
- [16:13] Most quit before they commit, which kills off the wood energy. The greater the act of faith, the more uncertainty and potential risk you are putting on the line, the greater the rewards will be.
- [16:28] The reward you receive may not be the one you seek. This is why it is important to stay open, humble, and curious. This is a state of mind and way of being that is essential to success in travel and business.
- [18:28] It can be so challenging in the moment where you feel you have given everything two steps one and two in this process and then what you showed up for isn’t available or things don’t go to plan. This is the moment to stay open.
- [19:43] For Kyle, opening up and allowing the wood energy to flow and the magic and mystery of Hawaii inspired the travel in him and the desire to explore.
- [21:58] His experience in Hawaii made him remember the reason he got into business was that he wanted to be able to live and travel however he wanted. It dawned on him that now was the time to claim that.
- [23:55] He feels like staying in Hawaii for the rest of the year is one of the best investments of his life ever.
