SEP Episode #62: Three Things I Had To Let Go Of To Grow The Story Engine Agency

In this episode, I’m giving you a personal look into the three things I had to let go of to grow The Story Engine Agency. We’ve all heard the saying, “You need to get out of your own way if you want to succeed.” Discover three things that can hold you back from growing to your desired place of success and how to overcome them.

SEP Solo Episode: 3 High-ticket Sales Pitfalls And 3 Storytelling Solutions

Sales is one of the most crucial skills to master for experts, coaches and consultants when growing a business and selling high-ticket products. For many of these expert types, their core skills have been focused around solving big problems for people (healing chronic diseases, solving technical problems, training teams to be better organized… the list goes on and on). But rarely between the time and energy spent mastering their craft did they have time to learn marketing, sales and storytelling.

SEP Solo Episode: Lessons Learned From 1 Year Of Podcasting

On August 22, 2018, The Story Engine Podcast was born. It launched with seven interviews ranging from practical digital marketing like design hacking sales pages to the deep inner work that comes from mastering sales.

I’ve loved the blend of actionable and helpful business and marketing advice combined with the deep and moving stories that come from making an impact on the world.

Over one year and 70 episodes later, the podcast is a year old. It remains something that I look forward to every week. I’ve learned a great deal over the many conversations and reflections that make up this show. To celebrate the first year of the show, I’m going to share some of the best lessons I’ve learned from behind the scenes of the podcast.

SEP Solo Episode: You Can’t Teach Entrepreneurship

You see I believe and continue to believe that you can’t teach entrepreneurship like you can teach mathematics, spelling, or many basic classroom lessons. I believe the best way to learn entrepreneurship is on the front lines and alongside a community of other entrepreneurs who are on the front lines learning with you.

SEP Solo Episode: What is Freedom?

Happy Fourth of July, everyone. To my non-American listeners, the Fourth of July is a day where we get together with our friends and loved ones. We put on our favorite bald eagle t-shirts, and have a red Solo cup filled to the brim with our favorite beer in one hand. Then the other hand is free to shoot fireworks into the air or sometimes at each other to celebrate our freedom.

I think despite our passionate celebration at this time, many of us have lost touch with that incredible gift of freedom. Today, I want to share what freedom means to me and to challenge you to live up to the treasure that it is. Even if you aren’t an American, many of these lessons are not limited to this country.

SEP Solo Episode: The Goal And The Journey

One of the big themes I’ve found after utilizing personality tests is something called futuristic thinking. It’s a strategic mindset that sees everything that could be. It’s an incredible gift and superpower. I want to share with you how to use this way of thinking to set goals, learn to speak your story out loud and further your entrepreneurial outreach to new heights.

SEP Solo Episode: Today’s My 31st Birthday

Today is my birthday. Not the day that I recorded this podcast, but the day that I published this podcast. I want to share some of my reflections over this last year and some of what I want to bring into this next year. So I’ve put together a list of some of my biggest wins from this year to celebrate. Some of the biggest lessons I learned, and some of the things I really want to bring into my next year.

SEP Solo Episode: Lessons From The Worst Typo Of My Life

You can learn a lot about yourself from how you respond to mistakes and the kind of mistakes you find yourself making a lot. On this episode of The Story Engine Podcast I explore the complications that have arisen with the promotion of my new book and how there can be success despite complications.
