- [01:22] If you can create more opportunities for you to speak in front of your ideal audience that is going to increase your awareness, increase how many people are following you on social media, subscribing to your email list, and buying your products.
- [01:43] Remember the long game. Remember that consistently doing these practices over a long period of time can cultivate big opportunities. Don’t burn any bridges in order to get quick wins.
- [02:47] You really need to feel like an authority. If you don’t feel like an authority you’re not going to see or take advantage of the opportunities that you have to speak.
- [03:42] When you feel like an authority, it is going to make everything else easier.
- [03:55] Create wins. Start reaching out to different people and look for ways that you can create wins for those who are speaking to your ideal clients on social media, have a podcast, or a stage.
- [06:13] Build on your wins. Whenever you do create a win for something see how you can on build it and create another win.
- [07:10] Make reaching out a daily practice. It is so essential that you are both creating new connections and simultaneously nurturing already existing relationships.
- [09:22] Be better than garbage. We want to elevate our outreach and the quality of how, when, and what we do to reach out to people.
- [11:02] Send voice notes and video messages instead of plain written emails.
- [12:25] Along with making outreach a daily practice, you want to make research a weekly practice. A little bit of research every week can go a long way in helping you stay aware of possible speaking opportunities and revealing new opportunities to you.
- [15:20] Follow-up with people. Just because somebody doesn’t respond right away or they say no the first time, you want to be following up and continuously be creating the opportunities to offer your presentation, help, and value again and again. The more that you follow up, the more opportunities you are going to create.
- [16:10] Follow-up is one of the most important tools to continuously develop these relationships and create these speaking opportunities.
- [16:17] Declare you are a speaker. Post on social media, create a page on your website, and send out an email to your list letting them know that you have topics to speak on and if they know anybody who they might want to connect you with.
