5 Side Benefits to Having a Great Talk

Recently I have been taking a group of entrepreneurs and coaches through a month-long process of creating a signature talk. One of the things that I asked them at the end of our 4 weeks together – What were some of the side benefits that working on this talk provided for you and your business? I got a lot of interesting insights that I wanted to share with you today to celebrate the success of some of these students and to really give you an idea of everything that you can benefit from when it comes to having a good signature talk that you can rely on, give anywhere and that you know is set up to attract your ideal clients.

- [01:35] If you have a talk, you get asked to speak more. More speaking opportunities get created when you have a talk that you are confident in and you are really starting to look for opportunities.
- [02:04] As soon as you have a message that encourages you and inspires you are going to start seeing more of these opportunities, reach out more, and people are going to see your motivation and your passion.
- [02:17] After you do your signature talk once and you do a great job that is going to open up the doors for more events and speaking opportunities.
- [02:40] You get clearer on your ideal customer and value.
- [03:33] When you go through this process and you really start to grasp how to speak to your clients on this level, you upgrade your authority. It makes it easier to attract premium clients.

- [05:48] Now that you have this talk in place all you need to do is figure out how to get more people to see that.
- [06:02] You are going to have more free time and energy to be brilliant in other areas of your life and business as well.
- [07:50] You can repurpose your talk into great content. A signature talk is a body of work and a wealth of content that you can use in many ways other than just giving the signature talk.
- [08:47] You can take the story and use it to create residence in many different ways.
- [09:02] You are probably going to end up wanting to teach way more than you’re able to in the time that you’re given. You can take what you have cut from the presentation and consider creating some deeper dive content that you can offer as a free giveaway after the presentation or something to continue to get people to move deeper with you and engage with you.
- [09:47] You're going to want to take clips of your best moments on stages or on podcasts and turn them into short-form video content which is very popular these days.
- [10:45] You should be getting up on stage, connecting with people, and getting more opportunities for you to speak.
- [10:57] Business is more fun when you are being yourself.
- [11:58] When you really feel like you have a purpose that other people understand and resonate with, the challenges that come evitable from being a business owner are at least more bearable because you have this deeper purpose and alignment in what you are doing.
- [12:34] There are a lot of doors that will open to you once you have a good presentation together.
