How to Shift Beliefs and Create Customers

Today on the show we are going to be talking about belief shifting. This is a certain technique that we use while we teach in order to open people up to new possibilities and get them to imagine working with us. Simply teaching how to all the time when you’re presenting or creating content does add value but it doesn’t always inform a decision. Another thing about teaching how to is there is a challenge standing out from the crowd. It is likely that there are thousands of others just like you with a similar offer, price, and process. What we need to do to differentiate ourselves from them is not teaching all the how-to that goes into all of the same things that we are doing as our competition but really taking a stand in what we believe and what we stand for and accentuating that as we teach. We want to stand for or against certain beliefs or certain perspectives.
In today’s episode, we are going to talk about how to identify the beliefs. Then we will talk about a simple five-step process that you can use to build teaching into your content that is going to belief shift and open them up to new possibilities of working with you. Finally, we will go through three simple examples of beliefs and how we apply the process to each of them.
We discuss:
- [02:26] There are a lot of ways that we can speak to currently be held beliefs about what is in our industry or what is in the problem that we solve that can separate us from our competition, create residence, and overcome some of the biggest objections that are audience has before they get to arise.
- [03:31] Kyle shares questions to explore what these beliefs are for our ideal audience. What have they heard over and over again that you don’t stand for?
- [04:23] What are they overly focused on and investing a ton of energy into that is not getting them the results they are hoping for and how can they change that focus to get those results?
- [04:58] Step one is calling out the sacred cow. Declaring that you are frustrated with what you see wrong.
- [05:38] The next step is to empathize with the misunderstanding. By empathizing with them they will be open to hearing what you have to say.
- [06:23] Next we want to dismantle the belief. This is one of the most important parts of the process.
- [07:01] As we start to dismantle the belief we start to open people up to new possibilities when they see that this one thing that they are believing has not been serving them and has been holding them back.
- [07:27] Next after you are done dismantling and discrediting the current belief you want to present the new way, the alternative, the better way which is your process. Finally, you want to present a choice to them.
- [08:03] Laying out with these five steps you can really open somebody up to a new way and a new possibility and move them closer to that key decision.
- [10:02] 1st example belief - The Keto diet is the only way.
- [11:30] 2nd example belief - You can’t grow a business without a big social media following.
- [14:21] 3rd example belief - Charging premium prices is greedy.
- [17:00] Building in belief shifting teaching through your presentations and into your content is going to get many more people starting to resonate with you as a person and opening themselves up to new possibilities because the barriers that were once holding them back are no longer there.
- [17:23] This is a very powerful framework and I guarantee you when you start implementing this strategy you are going to see a big difference in your conversions when you speak and how your audience engages with you.
