Today we are looking at 2021. What a year it has been for all of us across the world and what a year it has been for me. I want to acknowledge many of the challenges and uncertainties that many of us have been facing globally. It has certainly been one of the most unique years in my lifetime in terms of what I have seen happening in the world around me. Fortunately for me at this time, I have been able to continue to grow, develop, and continue to adapt. I hope that this trend accelerates and I hope we all as a planet can come closer together and be better off as a whole as we move through these challenging times.
Today I want to share some of my biggest wins over this last year. I want to celebrate and share some of the lessons I have learned and where I have learned those. I am also excited to share some of the things I have in store for next year.
We discuss:
- [02:09] One of Kyle’s biggest wins in 2021 is the creation of the Story Pro program. He ran three groups of this program this year.
- [03:40] A lot of times when you are crafting a presentation and attempting to communicate your value through your stories, a lot of different stories about why you aren’t so valuable will arise.
- [04:31] Another win is enhancing how he works with his 1-on-1 and private clients including the addition of VIP days.
- [06:29] Kyle had the opportunity to play a part in two speaking competitions this year with his clients.
- [08:11] This year he has really been able to connect with his music again this year. He has been playing guitar more and learning more about crafting music on many different levels.
- [09:46] Another huge win was he had his first and largest corporate client this year. He ran a storytelling workshop for one of the largest food manufacturers in the world.
- [11:17] Actually being able to hold and use silence to your advantage is one of the ways that you can really be a pro when you are facilitating a workshop or whether you are speaking from the stage.
- [14:17] One of the biggest sources of lessons he had was a shoulder injury that he got while he was in San Diego in September. I learned that the healing process is not always linear.
- [15:52] He has a whole new value for taking care of himself, his physical health, and his mobility. When you lose a little bit of your mobility it reminds you how important it is.
- [16:08] Another lesson this year has been in patience and trust. Sometimes doing less is actually more effective but it requires trust in yourself and more importantly trust in the universe. It is trusting in the work you are putting in and not always pushing harder and doing more which can lead to burnout.
- [19:12] The lack of sales at the summit became an opportunity to follow up with everyone at the summit, get them on calls, and invite them personally to Story Engine Pro. Turning that summit from a failure into a success was a super important and powerful lesson.
- [20:07] The two best books Kyle has read this year.
- [22:04] In 2022, Kyle is looking forward to continuing to enhance and expand his own creativity through music, what he creates on the podcast and social media, and beyond. He is also looking forward to working with more leaders.
- [23:34] He is looking forward to coming out with a new Story Pro program and he is also feeling called to write a new book.
- [25:30] What an incredible journey it has been! He can’t wait to continue to share this journey with you all in 2022. He hopes you have been able to find treasures, growth, and opportunities through it all.
